Al een jaar of 25 ben ik een min-of-meer
actief vogelaar. De laatste jaren wat minder actief, vroeger wat meer actief.
Vroeger in Noord-Holland gewoond en in die omgeving veel gevogeld. Veel bezochte
gebieden waren : Waterland, Flevoland, Duinen, IJmuiden.
Ook wat inventarisatie werk gedaan voor de Atlas van Nederlandse Vogels.
Tegenwoordig woonachtig in Annen, Drenthe. Vogelactiviteiten zijn het af en toe eens
bezoeken van bijv. het Lauwersmeer en het Bargerveen.
Verder probeer ik vakanties zoveel mogelijk af te stemmen op vogels en/of mooie
natuur (gaat natuurlijk vaak samen).

One of the most spectacular things to
experience is canoing along the Northwestern coast of Scotland between thousands of
Guillemots, Razorbills and Puffins.
We have done this a few times near the island of Handa, a birdsanctuary. The birds are
absolutely not shy under those circumstances, they swim around the kayaks at very
close distance. In the clear water you can see them diving under the boats when they
are chasing fishes. |
